Details

Reef managers, policymakers, researchers, rights-holders, industries and communities around the world are faced with increasingly difficult decisions about how to promote reef resilience in the face of climate change. Models and decision-support tools are critical to explore scenarios, assess their costs and benefits, and guide action despite resource constraints and uncertainty. Presentations within this session will describe the new tools, modelling capabilities, and workflows that support informed decision making around when, where and how to deploy reef protection and restoration actions. Topics in this session will also highlight the application of these tools in COTS control and reef restoration initiatives, in order to forecast, prioritise and deliver robust outcomes for people and the environment at multiple spatial scales.
