Creating strong and effective partnerships that adapt to change

This session explores how enduring and adaptive partnerships are central to achieving long-term outcomes for reef protection and community wellbeing. Facilitated by Libby Evans-Illidge (Australian Institute of Marine Science), the discussion will bring together Phil Rist (Girringun Aboriginal Corporation), Bruce Taylor (CSIRO), and Nicole Rosser (ZigZag, Whitsundays). Panelists will share perspectives from Traditional Owner organisations, science, and tourism, highlighting how collaboration builds trust, enables innovation, and strengthens resilience in the face of rapid environmental and social change. Together, they will examine how strong partnerships can evolve to meet new challenges while ensuring shared benefits for people and reefs.
