This session explores the techniques and technologies shaping the future of reef management, focusing on how risks can be managed when interventions are applied at scale. Facilitated by Ian Poiner, Chairperson of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, the panel features Carly Kenkel (University of Southern California), Karen Vella (QUT), Gavin Singleton (Yirrganydji Land and Sea Ranger Program), and Roger Beeden (Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority). Together they will share scientific, governance, and cultural perspectives, examining how opportunities for innovation can be pursued responsibly to safeguard the Great Barrier Reef under accelerating environmental change.
